The aim of this project is the fabrication by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) and the characterization of novel chitosan-bioactive glass coating on Mg-based substrates [1]. This project will focus on selection of components of the novel composite coating, optimization of the EPD parameters and coating characterization, including microstructure, degradation behavior and biocompatibility with osteoblast cells. This research is founded by project MINIATURA 1 (National Science Centre in Poland) and involves collaboration between our Institute and the home institution (Department of Mechanics of Materials, Institute of Fundamental Technological Research Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland).
